Barbie - the planet's favorite doll for 60 years

"My whole philosophy was that, with the help of the doll, a girl can be whatever she wants. Barbie has always represented the fact that a woman can make choices."

This was the creed of Ruth Handler, who invented the Barbie doll in 1959.

Ruth watched Barbara, her little girl, for hours, how she plays with paper dolls and how she tries to create stories or real situations with her help.

As a result, he had the vision to create a 3D doll that would help little girls realize their dreams. That's how the first doll named Barbara after her little girl was born.

The first presentation of Barbie took place at the New York Toy Fair in 1959.

At first, Barbie was viewed with skepticism by those in the industry, but Ruth persevered.

60 years later, Barbie is the favorite doll of little girls all over the world, inspiring them and helping them imagine almost anything.

Every second, somewhere in the world, a Barbie doll is bought.

Today, being able to choose from nearly 200 real careers or many other imaginary characters, girls also have at their disposal countless clothes and accessories with the help of which they can materialize their dreams or stories.

Happy Birthday Barbie!
